About Emily
Emily finds her biggest inspiration in the natural beauty of our planet and the intermixing of cultures around her. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA, and Oakland became her second home when she fell in love with the vibrant people, food, and arts of the Bay Area.
Her design degree and experience working for elite residential and commercial firms set a solid foundation for her career. She also worked for four years as a licensed realtor, developing a deep understanding of the investment side of home purchases and remodels.
Since founding her own design company in 2015, Emily has enjoyed making each client's home a personal passion project. Every space presents her with new challenges and an opportunity to use creative thinking to transform the way it's used. Always on the hunt for fresh ideas, she attends industry events, design seminars, and trade shows regularly to stay current on the newest trends and technologies in this fast-changing industry.
Emily spends much of her free time traveling; recent trips have included Marrakech, Tokyo, Sardinia, and her favorite: Barcelona. While at home, she surrounds herself with great music, food and art, and almost never turns down an excuse to dance and drink good wine with the people she loves.

Design Philosophy
We spend most of our time and make most of our memories in our homes. They are our sanctuaries, our gathering places, our workshops. We believe deeply in the power of great design to improve our human experience, and therefore our physical and emotional well-being.
The design process is an exciting journey that our team joyfully navigates with each of our clients. Every project is unique, yet they share common goals: a cohesive vision, functional design solutions, and expert execution from start to finish.
Many of our clients are overwhelmed or simply too busy to tackle the design process on their own. They may know what they like, but not how to effectively bring their vision to life. We work together to determine their specific needs and preferences, and then develop a design plan to create a space they'll love for years to come.
Each home is a beautiful collaboration between designer and dwellers, and we take pride in the result.

About the Company
Emily's prior experience in the industry shed light on a common problem: the traditional interior design business model lacks the transparency and flexibility that today's clients desire. Seeing an opportunity to do better for her clients, she set out to found a company that would redefine the design process, making it approachable, personalized, and transparent.
Every Emily Finch Design project starts with a customized project plan, clear pricing, and an A-List team of contractors, architects, and project managers. Our designs are tailored specifically to each client's style, but all exude a sense of ease and timelessness that grows with the family. We connect our clients with resources we’ve acquired across years of experience, and work hands-on to deliver a finished product we are truly proud of.
Our team creates beautiful and functional homes for busy families and professionals throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Recent projects include a "California Cool" family home in Orinda, a Spanish Bungalow in Rockridge, and a Glam-Meets-Modern flat in NYC.
