Emily Finch Design Studio is a boutique Bay Area interior design firm focused on creating handcrafted, bespoke interiors through a heart-centered design process and elevated client experience.
Our specialty is full-service design for luxury homes throughout California and beyond. Most of our projects are complete renovations or new construction, and we guide the process from pre-permit planning through construction, furniture, and styling.
Recent projects include an organic-modern new build in Sonoma County, a "California cool" remodel in Orinda, and the renovation of an historic Craftsman home in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland.
About Emily
Emily fell in love with design at a young age. Growing up in Santa Barbara, she was enamored with the beautiful Spanish architecture and the landscape of the "American Riviera,” and even worked as a realtor in Montecito during design school.
She worked for three top design firms before founding her own studio in 2015, dedicated to providing the personalized, heart-centered approach she felt the industry needed. Emily enjoys collaborating with talented artisans and integrating handcrafted pieces and natural materials to give every home a sense of connection.
Emily finds her biggest inspiration in the natural beauty of our planet and the intermixing of cultures around her. Much of her free time is spent traveling; recent trips have included Paris, Mo’orea, and Sardinia.
While at home, she surrounds herself with great music, food and art, and almost never turns down an excuse to dance and drink good wine with the people she loves.

Our homes are where we spend most of our time and make most of our memories. They are our sanctuaries, our gathering places, our workshops. We believe deeply in the power of great design to improve our human experience, and therefore our physical and emotional well-being.
The design process is an exciting journey that our team joyfully navigates with each of our clients. Every project is unique, yet they share common goals: a cohesive vision, functional design solutions, and expert execution from start to finish.
Our Process
All projects start with a customized project plan, clear pricing, and an A-List team of contractors, architects, and project managers. We have a detailed, six-phase process that is tailored to each project’s individual needs, and a bevy of software and systems to support that process.
Many of our clients are overwhelmed or simply too busy to tackle the design process on their own. They may know what they like, but not how to effectively bring their vision to life. We work together to determine their specific needs and preferences, and then develop a design plan to create a space they'll love for years to come.
Each of our designs reflect the client's individual style and the home’s unique history and setting. All exude a sense of ease and timelessness that grows with the family. We connect our clients with resources we’ve acquired across years of experience, and work hands-on to deliver a finished product we are truly proud of.
